The bigger picture

Have you ever felt that you’re doing everything you can but nothing seems to be happening? You may go to God with the same issue time after time, asking for His guidance, but His will is not clear which leaves you confused and honestly, a little frustrated. Life sometimes doesn’t make a lot of sense, but those moments are the ones when we need to hold on tighter to God and remember who He is. They are opportunities to let go and rely completely on Him, on His provision, and when we do we get to witness daily miracles. We receive what we need exactly when we need it in the most unexpected ways; we get to experience God making it very clear that He is in control. He has been and always will be.
But how do we find the strength to focus on Him while we wait? How do we keep our faith and our joy through it all?
- KNOW: How can you trust someone if you don’t know them? Take time to know God’s Word. In Scripture you will read who God is and the promises He has made to you. You will get to know God better and see how He relates to your daily life. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
- LISTEN: As you read scripture ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what is His will for your life. God’s Word is life and will speak into your situation giving you the strength, peace, and wisdom you need. Ask God for guidance, and know He will answer you. “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know”. (Jeremiah 33:3)
- DO: While you spend time in silence with God, He will give you directions on what to do. Sometimes they may not seem very clear or you may need confirmation, but once you feel peace and clarity, obey God and follow His guidance. This may be difficult because He may ask you to do something that challenges you, takes you out of your comfort zone, or may seem impossible. That’s when you need to remember that “His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” (2 Peter 1:3)
- PRAISE: God is faithful and we praise Him not only for what He can do for us but for what He has already done. Always see the bigger picture. Our situation is important to God and He is working on it, but it can never be bigger than the gift of salvation we have received. Our problems can’t be more important than our God with whom we can have a relationship right now and who has given us eternal life through Jesus. We praise our Lord because that is our joy and purpose.
“And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3) When we understand that God’s Word is powerful and true we see things from a different perspective. Our God, our Father, is faithful, what He has said will happen so let your life display the joy of knowing that God sees you, hears you and He is blessing you through it all.
